Vineyard: Heritage Block
1 hectare trellised vineyard, Rootstock 101-14, drip-irrigation. Cool mountain breezes, slow ripening period. Winter snow. Mainly winter rains. Summers are warm dry and windy
Soil Type
Ancient alluvium, consisting of river-worn sandstone boulders and gravel mixed with varying amounts of sand and clay, overlaying deeply weathered claley shaley bedrock.
Vinification
We work reductively and minimise oxidation to protect the flavours in the juice. Grapes were gently pressed and only the best juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks, After fermentation, the wine spent 4 months on the lees to bring complexity. Thereafter the wine was moved to the oak barrel for a short maturation period.
